Project description
|
This project aims to evaluate suitable facilities in the Upper West Region (UWR) from which anaesthetic, theatre and the few medical staff can be trained in primary trauma care (PTC) skills. Further training in PTC will be delivered to staff in the Upper East Region (UER) to prepare for the 2-week training in the UWR for the October visit. Leadership training will be provided to UER staff by UK specialists in this field. Part of this training will be delivered to hospital administrative staff who have historically found difficulty understanding the context and impact of training delivered by the G.A.S. Partnership and have therefore not always been in a position of strength to support local training initiatives. In addition, training will also be provided to enhance patients’ experiences since this has been found to be a weak point in delivery of care to patients during evaluation studies in the UER over the past 3 years.
